Your trek begins at the Provaglio/Timoline train station, home to the vibrant "Il Viandante" bar/restaurant. More than just a refreshment spot, "Il Viandante" is a cultural hub, managed by passionate locals, dedicated to promoting local products and environmental awareness. This welcoming space sets the perfect tone for your journey.

From "Il Viandante," you'll follow a scenic path along the edge of the Torbiere del Sebino, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of this protected wetland. The trail leads you to the historic Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa, an 11th-century architectural gem. As you approach, the monastery's Romanesque bell tower rises against the sky, a silent sentinel of centuries past. Founded by Cluniac monks, this sanctuary played a vital role in the region's agricultural development, its walls echoing with the rhythms of monastic life and the labor of those who shaped the land. The monastery's simple yet powerful architecture speaks of a time when faith and nature were deeply intertwined. The descent follows an alternative route, providing a different perspective of the landscape as you make your way back to "Il Viandante."
